Spurs will’ve long since finished their rumble in the Concrete Jungle by the time these words get catapulted onto your perfectly flat, glowing screens this morning. Let’s just agree, then, that what ever hideous deficit may or may not’ve befallen us in Le Grosse Pomme: we’ve all had a jolly good lark and made lots of new friends along the way. With a bit of luck, desperately generous ones with large, cavernous bank accounts.

The days go by, as Talking Heads warned us they would. Since we last spoke I’ve been watching an unusual amount of table-tennis, nag jumping and looped video footage of Charlie Adam acting the tw*t in Baltimore. Another braindead challenge on Gareth Bale which has rightly been given the wagging finger of discontent from both AVB and the Welshman himself. He called it cowardly, I say the man’s got the physique of a beef Wellington and thrice as dense.
But enough of that eggy-faced chancer. This came through my letterbox the other day:
