Tottenham Against That Good Team From Liverpool
Gee wilikers. No rest for the wicked. It’s Everton who head down country this Saturday lunchtime with a casualty list as grimly chock-filled as ours. Between the two of us it’s a who’s who of pangs, ailments, mishaps and misery for the chaps in the bunker to chew over. For Everton a rather flabby midriff is the cause of concern with Fellani, Rodwell, Arteta and Steven Peanut all a mixture of doubts and definitely nots- while our very own Tottenham Hotspur continue to pack lightly at the back. Gallas and Bassong still the only recognised centre-backs on a green light. Although Kaboul, so we’re told, is close to a return. Can you smell what The Rock is cooking?
Ooh I wonder if it’s a flapjack.
Looking ahead. There’s hope among the great unwashed that we might be betwixt somewhat of a ‘run’- the likes of which our charge to Big League Europe was built. At the hub of all the fine work last year were two sets of five game winning streaks at either end of the campaign. Whacking great bundles of points at key stages. Win after win after win. And, whilst we’ve not had anything like the same consistency this time around, maximum hauls against a well-oiled Villa side and Hughes’ draw monkeys, would lead one to believe we’re back on the right track. Like I said, there’s a hope.
Rightio. This computer screen is making my eyes hurt and time has sadly got the better of me again. Another two-oner to The Hotspur with Bassong to score with his head. Them’s the breaks.
