So, I Wonder If We’ll Hear From ‘Arry Today?

fonejacker_terry_tibbs_2Good morning, people of Earth. I trust you’re all strapped in tight; this could be an interesting day at the office. We’re stumbling into the hazy twilight of the transfer window and it appears as if we’ve got a grubby finger in many an assorted pastry. Take a seat, avert thine eyes from the League table for  just a second and I’ll try and keep you abreast of what’s been occurring ahead of what promises to be an action-packed twelve-odd hours.

Ha. I said breast.

First up. Despite his assertions that Peter Crouch is in fact a top, top player (not to mention a top, top guy) it looks as if ‘Arry will let Sunderland and Stoke duke it out for the services of the elongated Englander with contact having already been made from both camps. Rumours that La Chat Noirs lodged a £10 million (!) bid yesterday, however, can only be trumped in its levels of ridiculousness by the news that we’ve allegedly turned it down. My guess is he’ll go for around half that. How exciting.

Elsewhere, a few Chelsea-types are reporting that Yossi Benayoun has wriggled free of his international duties with Israel to come and have a once over at The Lodge. Presumably with a view to a move rather than us offering cheaper rates than Bupa. He’s a good player, if you ask me. But, then again, I still rate Kieron Dyer. Sun rise, sun set.

Scotty Parker Party Starter ™ will be with us today, if you’re to believe Redknapp. Which you almost certainly shouldn’t. To be fair, it does look quite likely, with a written transfer request being put in by the player along with some quite reasonable snippets about him wanting to get back in the Big Leagues etc. Ooh go on then. You little rapscallion.

Another deal looking decidedly probable is one involving Gary Cahill. A little on the pricey side for The Professor (he’s opted for a German who can’t run), it appears as if Levy has entered negotiations with Bolton without managing to offend any of the parties involved. That’s to say he didn’t rummage around in his pockets for a few seconds before pulling out some bits of fluff and an old button. ‘Vell? Is this enough?’

And finally, the news that we’ve all been waiting for. Joe Cole is having a medical with French champions, Lille. Sacré bleu!

Right, I’ll leave you to share your thoughts in the space below. I’m sure the boss is getting miked up as we speak.

What do you mean he’s been on SSN since 8.00am?
