London to San Siro via Bloomfield Road

So, we popped our collective noggins out of the window on Friday morning, braving the b*stard chill of winter against our delicate features, and asked the nearest little street urchin to tell us the news. You boy, what day is this? Why, it’s the day of the Champions League draw, sir. And you’ve drawn AC Milan. Perhaps not the outcome that’ll have us running through streets in our dressing gowns, hugging every stranger that come into our path, but certainly an exciting prospect all the same. AC Milan. Back at the San Siro. This is what we signed up for, folks. We’ll have ‘em bolting for the hills in no time. Just you wait.

Meanwhile, Tottenham take an unseasonal trip to the seaside this weekend; Blackpool our illuminating hosts for Sunday lunch. Tangerines ahoy! Word from the Met office is hardly promising, though. They appear to have given up with traditional methods of forecasts- just a few images on their website of hard-shoulder-bound truck drivers pissing into their hands to stay warm. I think we’re supposed to work out the rest. It’s cold. And it’s going to remain cold for, like, ever. Whether it’s enough to conquer the hapless under-soil of Bloomfield Road, we’re not yet in the picture. But, with resident midfield dynamo, Charlie Adam, very much not in residence, thanks to a ban- you’d hope that the ground staff have staved off the worst of it and we can take advantage. A couple of well-placed hot water bottles and a large twelve tog duvet should do the trick. We wait with baited breath.
