Totkit

I’m encouraging everyone to have a bloomin’ good moan about these new kits. Not that there’s anything particularly amiss with them- bar that repugnant sky-blue number and elements of the navy away which look as if they’ve been plucked from the seat cover of a Focus ST. No, it’s just when the last batch of accoutrement didn’t hit the mark, things turned out rather well. 2009/10 offerings may’ve rendered the wearer’s armpits to resemble a piss-sack, all was soon forgotten once we’d gate-crashed the Top Four and made our own little wedge of history.

So grumble to your heart’s content. I don’t mind if we look like berks. As long as, while we’re doing so, we’re twotting a last-minute winner past Julio Cesar at the San Siro.

Here Here – I was actually a fan of last seasons kits but loved the fact that for all the people who hated it, it will now forever be remembered as the kit we got to the coveted 4th place with.

The white Home kit aint too bad, quite like the idea, even if the shorts are questionable. The sky blue Away kits is hideous and the less we wear this the better. Quite like the 3rd ”Exclusive” kit although not sure where the lime-green has come from but okay then, must have been one of those 3am, strokey-beard whilst smoking a spliff meeting decisions to chuck that in there – think someone was seeing pink polar bears and Elvis moonwalking up and down his ceiling, shouting ”Lime Green, thats what we need, Lime Green, its the future of Spurs, footballers are lime-green!!!”
Okay, maybe not but its as plausible as any other theory!!!

Now… where are the fecking new recruits!!

  2. Trembly Trembly says:

    I’m getting kitted out…

    with…

    the…

    white training top.

    • JamieSpurs JamieSpurs says:

      Too right

Personally………………… I’ll probably buy the home shirt but I reckon I’ll do what I did last season and visit Toffs and get myself a PROPER retro number

  3. Trembly Trembly says:

my all new avatar should be wearing a variation on the new home shirt.

  4. Trembly Trembly says:

WFRF. Can you zoom in on the gravatar pic like you can in that broken pile of crud oleole?

    • Who framed ruel fox? Who framed ruel fox? says:

Ooh I wonder which part of your avatar you’ll be zooming in on… ;) but very much :) . I shall look into it, hombre. There’ll no doubt be a Wordpress plug-in which will see to all of your moniker needs.

    • KayBee KayBee says:

      You’re sooooo predictable! :p

  5. JimmyG2 JimmyG2 says:

The knee bandage on the home shorts is presumably only on Ledley’s kit and is an optional extra on the rest.
    Much too fussy for me.

  6. JamieSpurs JamieSpurs says:

Home shirt is good – even if it is twinned with young boys from the Wankdorf Stadium!!!!

Home shorts – dodgy (what’s with the white slash on one leg?)

Away (sky blue) – Looks like the Uruguay kit………………… just not as nice. Should have just chosen one colour for the chest slash.

Third kit (navy) – MINGING. Looks like a rugby league kit. All lines and colours all over the shop and the most confused collar I’ve ever seen.

ALSO……………. what’s the deal with the big puma badge on the waistband of the away & third shorts? it looks terrible.

I actually think Puma have only produced three good kits in the entire time they’ve been our kit supplier. This year has been more of an anti-climax than last years kits release!!

Thank god that this is their last season.

  7. JamieSpurs JamieSpurs says:

To explain my Young Boys from the Wankdorf stadium quote >>>>>>>>>>>>

    http://www.footballshirtculture.com/10/11-kits/young-boys-2010-2011-puma-football-shirts.html

I wonder if Daniel Levy will be so pleased to see that our super cool retro home shirt is in fact a copy of some second rate Swiss side!!

    AND ANOTHER THING………….

Why did we have to have both the logo and name of the company on the shirt. It would look so much better with just one of the 2.

  8. JimmyG2 JimmyG2 says:

    Less is more people.
Let the football do the talking if you can hear it over the chatter of the kit.

I’m getting more hostile to them by the minute.

  9. Tommy spurs Tommy spurs says:

Getting worse every year. How did they manage to design a worse kit than last years?
bring back the simplicity of 3 years ago or even the kappa kits. Terrible, like a cheap car interior.

  10. Shannon Shannon says:

I absolutely hate everything about it! Oh well.

  11. JamieSpurs JamieSpurs says:

On the upside………………. I detested last years kits and look what we achieved in those kits.

I sincerely hope that Levy employs a half decent manufacturer next season, Umbro or Adidas please Daniel.

  12. Spooky Spooky says:

    What Trembly said.

  13. nicktheyid nicktheyid says:

wot a load of shit.cant believe the dross they expect us to pay for.as if all those years of mediocrity were just wiped away by getting to th cl qualifier so they think yep nows the time to really take the piss.bring back adidas! as long as that plastic spiderman shit doesnt come with it. ive still got adidas/holsten kits in better nick than all there other rubbish kappa puma dross.agree with the fact should have been either logo or name of sponsor but i suppose 10m a year buys whatever you want

    • JamieSpurs JamieSpurs says:

The Adidas ’spiderweb’ look only goes on the proper team kits as the material is vastly different to the one they use to produce the replca kits.

I’d rather let some kids from the Spurs Foundation design the next kit than see Puma create another monstrosity!

  14. davspurs davspurs says:

The white is good but the shorts should be white with the bottom of the shorts with the blue flashing . The dark one is a grower and could improve with a few wins under is belt. the sky Blue should. be handed over to Coventry or white side panels on the shirt and .Next year we will have Adidass. hopefully and things will improve but lets also hope our football makes them look superb again

  15. Foggy Foggy says:

I like the home kit, very smart.Did anyone manage to get to the open training session? If so what was it like, and was there an oportunity to put any questions across?

  16. KennYid KennYid says:

Mmmmm.. Tommy Spurs, good thinking. I may just go dig out my Kappa shirt!

  17. Griff Griff says:

I agree with most of the guys on here that the Home shirt is pretty good. The knee flash on the shorts is a bit random and the second kit looks like a friday afternoon job. I think the third kit is better than the away kit and seems to be a trand over the past few years.

Good to see Sir Ledley kitted up again. Hopefully we’ll be seeing plenty of that this season.

  18. Trembly Trembly says:

Oh dear. Is Ledley’s left elbow fcuked as well now? What he needs are some perfectly good joints.

  19. SeattleSpursGuy SeattleSpursGuy says:

So, to sum up, everyone likes the new kit, apart from those that hate them?

This takes me back to last year……..and the year before……and before that.

The new kit provides a day of talk and buzz around the club. It’s fun for a day, but I imagine we won’t care by the weekend.

  20. Aran Aran says:

It’s really not that important in the big scheme of things I suppose but I do rather wish we could have nicer looking kits.

I don’t think most people would agree with me but, of the three, I rather like the light blue strip. It’s simple and clean and a nice colour.

The home shirt is fine but the shorts are a car crash. The white strip at the bottom is utterly ugly.

Final point, why do they all look so pissed off? I want to see the lads smile!

  21. Trembly Trembly says:

    Big picture…

Shite kit design (as a collection and individually), new sponsors, less red on the kits, more money with only 1 sponsor so far, new stadium and training ground to pay for, new bigger better players to pay for, champions league to fight for, and not forgetting our big chance to cement ourslves in the CL spots and mount a serious title challenge.

    Small picture…

Imagine any of these kits body painted on the model of your choice. I bet you wouldn’t complain about where the cock went then? (in reference to the logo on the shorts of course)

  22. Spiritual Advisor Spiritual Advisor says:

Is it just me or do the diagonal lines across the home kit resemble the shaved lines on our beloved speed demon Azza !

  23. Pumaboy Pumaboy says:

Was looking forward to this seasons new offering of a cool retro but fresh looking kit.
White shirt blue trim. Dark blue with grey/silver trim. Yellow with dark blue trim.
Instead once again puma have missed a trick. Training gear spot on. All looks a bit cluttered. Have name or logo not both! Shorts on home kit a big no no, third kit, please what is that all about? And the away, plain, boring no imagination!
That said will buy one (not sure which one!!) to show my support for our boys and wear it proudly

  24. CC CC says:

Not wanting to sound too negative but that home kit makes us look like Bolton Wanderers which is one of those clubs I prefer to avoid taking style ideas from…

  25. Longwell Longwell says:

Those hyperactive fuckwits at Puma just can’t resist adding one more little candyass flourish, can they? And another. Christ.

I don’t know why poor design irritates me so much, but it does. Thank fuck it’s our last season with these goddamn amateurs.

    • Spiritual Advisor Spiritual Advisor says:

I tip my hat to you sir, although I bet this kit will see us into 3rd this year causing some some late seaon discombobulation.

      • Longwell Longwell says:

If they have another successful season, I’ll buy a kit.

Young Boys away strip looks nice. And has a pimptastic touch: sponsored by Westsiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.

  26. I’ll take the white socks, thank you very much!

  27. Adamski Adamski says:

I think the new kits are nice, we should all wear them with pride when we get them through the post. The away strip is similar but better than the old one and the 3rd strip is great and could possible be the one I buy. The home shorts are a bit of a let down but never buy them anyway and can see us wearing all white which would look uber cool.

  34. SeattleSpursGuy SeattleSpursGuy says:

So, there I was in San Jose, Cally-forn-i-a, to watch the mighty men of Tottenham take on the Earthquakes of MLS. There is apparently some sort of club partnership deal in place where Spurs bring over a depleted team of disinterested players, and the Quakes provide a cut up patch of desert scrub and an egg-fryingly hot day for them all to mingle about on while kicking each other with gusto.

I won’t talk about the game too much. If you saw it on ESPN or watched the highlights, eye gaugingly dull sums it up, I think. This was to be your classic 2nd friendly of the year, where our boys were just looking for a run out and stretch of the legs, no damage done, and entertain the locals with a bit of Tottenham flair, but there was another factor that turned this into a sluggish bore-fest.

    THE BLOODY HEAT!

It. Was. Hot. Mid-90’s (F) in the stands with temps on the pitch creeping up over 100. Energy sapping stuff. You could tell during the warm-ups the lads were not used to this kind of hot, and did not fancy it much. Several times you could see a move start brightly, only to peter out when their brains started to stir fry from the effort. Not creatures of Summer are our boys. It’s funny a bit; we are no longer an easy touch on a wet, cold night in Bolton, but the searing heat of San Jose is a whole other level of challenge.

Oh, there were some good moments. Townsend has a future if he can find a final ball. Some good balls to Keane and Pav. By far our biggest threat on the day. Bale always looked lively and got up after a really shitty challenge (heart-in-mouth stuff there).

BTW, I believe Bale was wearing a Bro, or some kind of male lingerie thing. I found it vaguely disturbing.

And Luka had some good interplay with Niko and Pav. But the bad moments were more evident. Obika is just not very good; Hutton needs a fast trip to Caledonia; Jenas was mid-season form (back-back-side-side-back) and PSB added a crew-cut and advanced aging to his weaponry of gestures and loud talking. Other than that, nothing too memorable on field.

But I didn’t care. I got to see Spurs in person for the first time. There was goodly number of Yids from the San Francisco Spurs Supporter’s Club. Good ex-pat folks in many cases. I was able to meet a few of them and join in on some singing, but there weren’t enough of us to make an impressive bit of noise. The Quakes fans kept looking at us, as if perplexed by the songs. There some good banter though with some douchebags in Arse kit. Many of them were surprised to hear that a bit of a rivalry exists between our two clubs.

    These are my people: Americans.

But hey, good times and an afternoon well spent. Consider it a warm up for getting myself to the Lane!

    • KayBee KayBee says:

      Brilliant write-up! :)

Really glad you enjoyed it and got to see ‘em live – I watched on a stream and it was a bit like watching… Lego men!

  35. SeattleSpursGuy SeattleSpursGuy says:

Also, the new sponsor logo had been hastily glue gunned onto the training tops. Either that or a special ed art student drew it on. Or, maybe print outs from the Autonomy web page were stapled on. That seems likely as the logo faded over time as the sweat count rose.

    And, again, WTF Baler?

  36. SeattleSpursGuy SeattleSpursGuy says:

Also, the Quakes stadium might be the worst venue ever for a high calibre match. Ever.

10,900 souls crammed into a ground with a capacity of 10,000, and we were all funneled into one gate at the only entrance. The game was delayed 20 minutes to get everyone through the bottleneck. We were sat on rickety plywood seats screwed onto some kind of scaffolding from a local house painter.

    And Port-a-Potti’s. Oh deary me.

The ground is normally used as the home of the the local college soccer team and I’m sure it’s fine for that, but it was in no way fit for a large-ish crowd. Given we were 45 minutes from San Francisco, which has numerous college and professional grounds with higher capacity, it seemed a strange place to play.

  37. SeattleSpursGuy SeattleSpursGuy says:

Last thing. California women are incredibly hot.

    I mean, seriously hot.

And Baler, sort out that Manssiere thing pronto.

  38. ModricMagic ModricMagic says:

I like the kits, I liked last years kit, I like any shirt with the Tottenham badge on it, to be honest.

I’ll probably be buying the home kit.

Did anyone hear the american commentators say “keane was offsides” against earthquakes? genius!
