Defoe: A Tribute

Look out, moderately famous women of Toronto! Jermain Defoe is leaving on a jet plane to Canada at the end of the month and he’s not just there because he believes in The Ryan Nelsen project. He’s come to pay for your calf-reduction surgery and acting lessons, too.

And so, to mark the departure of Spurs’ fifth all-time top scorer, here’s some footage of him relentlessly tw*tting the ball past Chris Kirkland. Defoe never actually won a trophy in his time in England (despite playing for both the domestic Cup winners of 2008) but if ever it was decided that a medal should be awarded for DOING LOADS OF GOALS IN ONE HALF then the little man would be at the front of the queue with his head bowed.

All the best, JD. We’ll always have Wigan.
