A Month Like No Other

cover1Friends, Romans, Countryfolk, lend me your eyes. No, seriously, look. Look at the sentence that’s chugging merrily over the vistas; snaking through the tumbleweed and into view. Here it comes. The international break is over. Phew. That felt good. If I could get to grips with some of the less discernible functions of this word machine I might have had the line in flashing gold font the size of my head and have it spill out into your toolbars. As it is we’ll just have to pop another log on the fire and take comfort in the details. Spurs are back in the fold this weekend- in what’s to be the beginning of an awfully busy month for the followers and folk of white and blue. If you buy into such things, it’s a month that many  believe will shape our future, much less our season. Forget the Olympic Stadium kerfuffle, forget Crouch’s role in the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. We’re in the business district now. The run-in before…the run-in.

April, then, betwixt her thirty days hosts *deep breath* a double header with Real Madrid (you might have heard about this one) a trip to Stamford Bridge, a North London derby, as well as the visits of Stoke and West Brom. More, you say? Well, I don’t think we could possibly fit… Oh, alright. Let’s throw in a jolly up in Lancashire for good measure. How does Saturday afternoon grab you? Presumably someone’s going to have to invent a device which can stretch the passing of time to cram all this in; otherwise we might finally see Jermain Defoe leading the line in his pyjamas for the oft controversial 6.00am kick-off. It’ll be like Japan and Korea 2002 all over again.

So, your thoughts and fears on the month ahead. April was labelled a Death March on here last year- and without the power of hindsight, quite rightly. A sl*g of a fixture pile-up. But we all know how that panned out. How does it grab this time around? Has it left you a bibbling ball of nerves or something altogether more sanguine?
